From passion to my own business. At 20, I started my career in fashion, and ever since, I've always had two goals in mind:
1. Delivering craftsmanship
2. Working creatively with my clients
In 2009, my husband and I were looking for a new home, but not necessarily a new place to settle down. I'd had a studio at home for fifteen years. But when I saw this building, it was immediately clear: this was the perfect place for my work. I immediately felt a sense of space and opportunity. "Now I finally have enough room to create!" I told myself. And now, in 2025, I've been working here happily for more than fifteen years.
In my shop, I sell women's clothing, designed by myself. What makes my designs unique is the personal approach I bring to my work. Everything is made with care and attention to detail, so that every customer feels special in my creations.
My fashion training was the foundation, but the real magic happened during my internships in Paris, where I spent two years truly mastering the craft of "Coupe et Couture" -design and sewing-
. It was there that I gained my first management experience, and I noticed that the way of thinking about fashion and entrepreneurship in France was very different from the Netherlands or Germany. It was a valuable experience that helped me develop my own vision.
Since then, I've happily lived in the Netherlands, where I seized my opportunity more thirtyfive years ago. But I'm also aware that success doesn't come easily -you really have to work for it, just like digging for gold-
What strikes me is that many people here in the Netherlands are afraid to start their own business. They think it costs a lot of money, but in reality, you can start with simple equipment and gradually expand. The most important thing is to persevere and follow your passion! I think my thirty years of experience in the industry have been a great advantage, but what I find most important is that you never stop learning and growing: "Entrepreneurship is a journey that can only be taken if you are fully committed to it"
